EcoStonia is based on a proprietary EcoPhage cocktail comprised of bacteriophages that were selected for their selectivity and virulency to target bacterium properties. The combination of several phages with unique Mode Of Infection (MOI) minimizes the development of phage-resistant strains.
Each phage bears a specific and unique site of attachment on the bacterial cell wall. Immediately after application of EcoStonia, phages attach on the cell wall of the target bacteria on the leaf’s cuticle surface. The phage infects the bacteria and subsequently causes its death.
When used as directed, the product delivers disease prevention with high levels of environmental, human and non-target safety, including bees.
